Fishing:

Under normal conditions this region is very fishy and provides several catches per day. Many groups of fishermen return every year to Jeff’s Island Lodge which proves the satisfaction of the fishermen. The region is protected against the indiscriminate capture of fish by an agreement signed in 2005, and since then the fish have been increasing every year in quantity and size. The 2 species of Tucunarés (Peacock Bass) found in this area are the “Paca” (Cichla Temensis Paca) and “Cichla Vazorelli” that weights on average between 3 and 15 lbs.

When fishing for Peacock Bass, it’s common to see other fish attacking your bait such as: Arowana, Trahira, Black Piranha, Payara (Vampire Fish) and Bicuda (Boulengerella Cuvieri).

Other fish present in these waters, like the Tambaqui (Colossoma Macropomum), Corvina and Piggy can also be pursued, but using different techniques… Fun guaranteed!
